S&D Coffee was looking to expand their relationship with Johnson & Wales University and the culinary community. They were especially interested in reaching the future chefs that would one day be the decision makers for coffee and tea service.
Media Bonsai created the S&D Coffee Challenge – Chef’s Select Showdown. Capitalizing on the growing trend of coffee as a key recipe ingredient, the recipe competition challenged Johnson & Wales students to create an original food or beverage recipe containing S&D Chef’s Select Premium Dark Roast coffee and submit the recipe through the S&D Coffee Facebook page. It was an interactive competition that covered every different form of media. The final piece of the campaign was a printed recipe book featuring 40 of the submitted recipes, interviews with the judges and finalists and more. The recipe book was used by S&D Coffee as a sales tool for prospective and current customers.
